estd 2016
Culture Cafe is a place for food lovers, craft cocktail connoisseurs, avocado toast eaters, eggs-at-night people, those looking for a place to work while having a delicious latte, those who want to let their hair loose with some wine and cheese curds.... Really, like the cultures from which the cafe draws its inspiration, it is a diverse space with something for each of us.
One can argue that the star of Culture is the decor. Owners Scott Louise scoured the globe for vintage light bulbs, interesting books, and antique mosaic tiles to transform the cozy space on Scotland Street into a fantastic restaurant with an industrial-bohemian vibe. While some might say that the comfy loungers upstairs and thought-provoking murals are the best parts of Culture, most would agree that the food is the prize. The menu has it all: new flavors, comfort classics, and an everything bread appetizer. Come on in you vegans, vegetarians, omnivores, flexitarians, pollotarians, carnivores, and fruitarians. All eaters are all welcomed and embraced at Culture.

SCOTT HOYLAND
OWNER
Before coming to Virginia Chef Hoyland was the executive chef at Vanderbilt Hall in Newport Rhode Island. It was while working there that he met his work and life partner, Louise Wood. The pair came to Virginia and worked together at the Blue Talon Bistro. Scott and Louise were able to realize their own dream of opening up a restaurant in 2016 when they opened Culture Cafe.
LOUISE WOOD
OWNER
After opening both Blue Talon Bistro and The Trellis, Louise took to renovating and painting our entire space like it was nothing. In fact, if you are considering a remodel, she’d love to come to your house and help…
